The Thing That Should Not Be
Ron Nordström, a visual artist from Fiskars, has created a work of art about the senselessness of war. The work was born out of anxiety caused by the normalization of everyday war and violence, and wonder at the cruelty of human nature. “It is inconceivable that every human being has experienced war and violence. Absolutely everyone. Either cruelly in person or watching from a distance. Or through the history of their own culture. And this is called intelligence,” says Nordström.
