Artist and Cabinetmaker Minja Kolehmainen’s solo exhibition C O N N E C T I O N -exhibition examines connection between self and nature. Consisting of wooden sculptures, installations, thoughts and above all; feelings. The Ocean, beaches and studying the mind has been the starting point for the artwork.
“Usually I find myself in and by the Ocean exploring forms and textures of water, sand and rocks. The presence of the water is the path for connection to myself and nature. It brings me peace, order and consolation. Time stops. These moments are precious and meditative. Those feelings and moments I carve on the surface of the wood and encourage the viewer to connect to self and to nature.”
You are warmly welcome to the CONNECTION -exhibition to experience the art of Minja Kolehmainen and also meet her in person. Kolehmainen opens doors into her mind and to her home/mobile workshop.
