Onoma’s summer exhibition 2022 explores multi-sensory experience through art, design and craft.
“In everything we do and experience, we engage with our senses. Consciously and unconsciously. When one of our important senses fades, breaks, is lost, or otherwise acts up, the other senses come to the rescue to remedy the whole. This is when we realise how multi-sensory experience works, and what a perfect whole it is in terms of our mental and physical functioning and balance. This perfect whole comes in a variety of forms. Its individuality and uniqueness are very fascinating.”

Artists and creatives operate in a sensory world that is strongly determined by the materials they use. The artists featured in the Hidden exhibition reflect on the meanings and possibilities of the various senses in their own work. What about the interpreter of a work of art or the user of an object? A number of factors contribute to how someone experiences and senses a work or an object. Often, however, the interpreter is strongly led by the creator of the work or object.
HIDDEN is part of the Fiskars Village Art & Design Biennale, which is co-produced by Luovi Productions and Onoma. Fiskars is biennales main partner.

GUIDED TOURS FOR MANY KIND OF VISITORS
Visitors can explore the works in the exhibition at their leisure or on guided tours. The exhibition seeks to consider the diverse needs of visitors and offers guided tours for a variety of tastes. As the summer goes on, there will be a greater variety of guided tours available. A total of ten guides work at the Hidden exhibition, each of whom creates a unique experience for visitors to enjoy. Visitors can explore the works in the exhibition on an audio-description tour, conversational tour, or an intensive quick tour. Guided tours are available both for groups and for individual visitors. Our online shop lets you explore the guided tour options in Fiskars Village Biennale and buy tickets in advance.

Onoma’s exhibitions will be admitted to the museum card from this summer. Visit all three main exhibitions at the Fiskars Village Biennale with the museum card.
