ABOUT CLAY – Pearls of European Ceramic Art in Fiskars

The Cooperative of Artisans, Designers and Artists in Fiskars ONOMA is pleased to announce the exhibition ABOUT CLAY opening this summer at the Copper Smithy in Fiskars.

ABOUT CLAY brings together a unique selection of top class European ceramic art. Presenting over 40 artists from all around Europe, this is the first time that this specific collection of works will be shown in Finland.

Participants from Finland include: Sakari Kannosto, Kirsi Kivivirta, Nathalie Lautenbacher, Matias Liimatainen, Tiia Matikainen, Lotta Mattila, Saana Murtti, Pekka Paikkari, Suku Park, Päivi Rintaniemi, Kristina Riska, Johanna Rytkölä, Anneli Sainio, Kim Simonsson, Riitta Talonpoika, Kati Tuominen-Niittylä and Karin Widnäs.

Invited artists have been chosen for their special approach towards the material and techniques used. The exhibition features abstract forms as well as figurative pieces, ranging from small sculptures to large-scale installations. Highlighting the works of both upcoming and established artists, this collection delves deep into the essence of clay and the many ways it can be formed.

The exhibition is curated by ceramic artist Erna Aaltonen. The architects are Barbro Kulvik and Antti Siltavuori, the exhibition graphics are created by Tommi Jokivaara and the producer is Sanna Nuutinen. The main partner of the exhibition is Fiskars Corporation.

Smash.Hit. Repeat

International art in Fiskars

This summer the Artist-in-residence offers a surprising exhibition to all friends of art. The Smash.Hit.Repeat exhibition shows the works of around twenty artists from ten different countries. During the residency’s ten years of activity it has managed to build an interesting and diverse network of renowned international artists, never shown before in Finland.

Punainen / Röd / Red – Lulu Halme

Exhibition at the small gallery in Onoma Shop 1.12. – 31.12.2016. We are open from 11am till 5pm from Tuesday till Sunday.

Lulu Halme is exhibiting her textile pieces and photographs around the theme “red”, created between years 2010 and 2016.
